UFC heavyweight contender, Francis Ngannou, often spends his time in his hometown with his mother and family. ‘The Predator’ often spends his time in the USA, as his fame now puts him only on the pay-per-view cards of the UFC.

Time and energy are two things Ngannou has needed to overcome all obstacles. From his parent’s divorce to his exile to Douala and his life on the streets when he arrived in France, Ngannou has been through the toughest times and has shone through it all.

Fame often leads you away from the ones that love you the most. However, Ngannou tries his best to spend time with the people most important to him. “I think family is important to everybody. It’s what we can lean on, it’s where we find refuge. When you have lived in precariousness and you have overcome many obstacles, you can understand the value of real people, the value of family.”

Francis Ngannou sticks to his roots

Ngannou continued to explain, “We are a pretty close-knit family, I think that our precariousness condition brought us together and made us stand by each other. We have also learned to live with our roots.”

Growing up in poverty, ‘The Predator’ believes that it’s important to stay grounded. He continued, “To know where you are going, you need to know where you are coming from. When you’re moving forward and you kind of get lost, the best thing to do is retrace your steps so you can find your way, and move more carefully to know where you’re going to end up”
