The newly crowned light heavyweight champion, Jan Blachowicz, is hunting down several elites for his upcoming UFC journey. While he has already called out Jon Jones in the post-fight interview of UFC 253, he has also set his eyes on Daniel Cormier.

The Polish gladiator has turned to Twitter and has lashed at Cormier for his recent comments on  ESPN. Ruling out Blachowicz’s chances against Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier has billed the new light heavyweight champion as “slow.”

Also, DC has advised his former rival Jon ‘Bones’ Jones to accept the fight against Blachowicz, citing it to be an easy contest for him. However, the Polish fighter hasn’t taken it lightly and has called out Cormier to encounter him inside the cage.

Jan Blachowicz wants to have a beef with former champion Daniel Cormier

Turning to Twitter, Blachowicz said that he would teach Daniel Cormier some respect for going harsh on him in the interview. It was kind of disrespectful for the two-divisional champion, as Blachowicz didn’t hold back in the call-out. “Get your fat a** off the couch and come to the Octagon,” wrote the new light heavyweight champion.

This social media call-out could have ignited one of the biggest light heavyweight contests in the sport’s history. However, DC is not getting back inside the cage. After relinquishing his career at UFC 252, the former champion claims himself to be retired for real.

Moreover, Cormier has offered some words of respect for Jan Blachowicz. Following the Polish fighter’s tweet, DC responded and advised him to care less about what others have to say.

He showcased a champion’s mindset by offering the piece of respect which Blachowicz deserves. “No chance champ, congrats on a big win. You’re the man! You’re the king now, you shouldn’t worry bout what an old retired man is saying. Great job getting that title!”

Meanwhile, Bachowicz can look up to Jon Jones if the latter gets back to the light heavyweight unit. However, Jones is gearing up for heavyweight action next. Thus, he might not want to go down at this point. Yet, if Bachowicz continues to boast and defend the title, he might face Jon Jones somewhere down the line.
