Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones have been making headlines for the last day, as their Twitter war has crossed most normal limits of trash talk. Izzy kept bringing up Jones’s past failings throughout. He focused on Jones’s issues with the law while Jones was responding with reminders of the one time that Adesanya was brutally KO’d in his kickboxing career.

Earlier, Jones had called Israel Adesanya a ‘soft African man‘, which was problematic for obvious reasons. However, there are previous incidents of Jones mixing up the African fighters in the UFC. Izzy is Nigerian, and so is Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman. However, one man that isn’t Nigerian is Heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou.

Izzy brought up a now-deleted Jon Jones tweet in which he responded to a fan correcting Jones over calling Ngannou Nigerian. Francis is from Cameroon, so mixing up countries is obviously a bad look for the former Light Heavyweight Champion. Izzy said Jones deleting the tweet is proof that he cultivates a ‘perfect’ image. He also said Jones should accept his mistakes, apologize, and then learn.

Israel Adesanya and his Twitter activity

Adesanya has been unleashed on Twitter against Jones. While one cannot say that Izzy has been fair in this battle, one cannot say that for Jones either. Both men have taken person shots at each other, which have been wholly unnecessary. At this point, it should lead to a fight because the wildly personal nature of this feud will have some resolution.

The chatter calmed down through the night, as Jones hasn’t been tweeting for the last few hours. However, Adesanya has been making a few unrelated Jones tweets. One of them was a quick reminder to everyone that he put on one hell of a performance in his Middleweight title defense against Paulo Costa.

Hopefully, this feud calms down in the next few weeks. From all estimations, a possible Jones and Adesanya fight is still a few years away. It will become very hard to stay invested in this feud if both men keep taking these potshots on Twitter without any clear resolution in sight.
