Nick Diaz returns to action at UFC 266 as he takes on a fellow veteran in Robbie Lawler. The elder Diaz brother has been out of action for six years now. Diaz vs Lawler will take place on the main card of UFC 266, which will feature not one, but two title fights.

Brian Ortega will fight champion Alexander Volkanovski for the featherweight title and also, Valentina Shevchenko will take on Lauren Murphy for the women’s flyweight title.

Ahead of their much-anticipated clash, Robbie Lawler shared his thoughts on what he expects from Nick Diaz going into UFC 266. He said, “No, I think he has been training this whole time. I think he is a guy who likes to dabble, help his brother out. Obviously, he is really good at Jiu-Jitsu and has a good Jiu-Jitsu game as well as boxing. So he is definitely going to come in shape and bring his tools and try to beat my a**.”

Lawler also shared his thoughts on the fight being a five-round contest, as opposed to the regular number of rounds. He said, “I feel good. It doesn’t really matter. But I think he is going to be in shape ready to go 25 minutes. That is just his makeup. He comes to fight, he likes to push the pace. He can go 25.”

This will be a huge benefit to him, given that it will be five rounds and not the regular three-round affair. Furthermore, both men are strikers first and swing at their opponents from the get-go.
