The main event at UFC 264 between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier ended in an unfortunate manner. McGregor snapped his leg in half after Dustin Poirier checked a kick thrown at him. This forced the referee to call the fight at the end of the very first round. The Irish champion underwent surgery following the loss and is expected to be out of action for the better part of a year.

Justin Gaethje, in a recent interview, shared his thoughts on the injury to McGregor. He said, “I guess my take would be that he is hanging around in LA drinking too much soy milk. They got those b**ch bones. I don’t understand, I don’t know. Your leg is not compromised if you’re kicking that much. You know, so it happened there.”

‘The Highlight’ continued, “And there was no obvious check that should have caused a break like that. So either he has weak bones. It was just a freak occurrence, you know, I can’t explain it, you can’t explain it. We’ve been watching this forever, so I don’t know what happened.”

Is Conor McGregor vs Justin Gaethje a possibility?

Justin Gaethje has been among the top lightweights in the UFC’s roster for a while now. ‘The Highlight’ has fought the very best at 155-pounds and has more often than not come out on top. Also, it is safe to say that Gaethje and McGregor do not see eye to eye.

‘The Highlight’ has on multiple occasions called out McGregor for being a s**t human and a s**t father. These comments by Gaethje have not been taken lightly by McGregor, who has promised to get his revenge.

‘The Highlight’ had the chance to face McGregor at UFC 246 in place of ‘Cowboy’. However, Gaethje turned it down as he believed that a title shot would be more important to him and his legacy over a money fight with Conor McGregor.

If and when Conor McGregor returns to the sport, he will have a plethora of opponents to choose from and Justin Gaethje is definitely one of the fighters at 155-pounds that he would have his eyes on.
