‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ Kamaru Usman takes on Colby Covington in an epic rematch 2 years in the making. For the champion, this fight is yet another rematch to assert himself in the division and establish that he is the undisputed pound-for-pound king in the UFC. For Covington, it is a chance to realize a lifelong dream.

Ahead of the fight, Usman was presented with a jacket to celebrate 50 clean tests under the USADA program. UFC Senior VP of Athlete Health and Performance, Jeff Novitzky, awarded him the jacket. Usman also became the first UFC athlete to reach that mark, fighting his entire UFC career under the program.

Unsurprisingly, Covington had a lot to say about the same. He said, “My immediate reaction is he is ahead of the curve. He has a brother for a doctor, and they’re able to mask the drugs in his system. Everybody knows Barry Bonds was doing steroids his whole career, but he never got caught because he was ahead of the curve. It is the same thing for Marty.”

‘Chaos’ continued, “You can look on his stomach and see all the injection marks, you can see all the acne breaking out on his back, breaking out on his face. You can’t tell me you have a chemical imbalance on your body when you’re 35-years old. He is a cheater, he is the Marty Juiceman, and he is the CEO of EPO.”

The fight at UFC 268 will be Covington’s second shot at a UFC title. He was beaten convincingly in the first fight and therefore had to secure an impressive win to earn a rematch. However, a loss this weekend might be the last title shot Covington has for a very long time.

If Covington loses on Saturday, there is little to no chance he gets a title shot as long as Kamaru Usman is the champion at welterweight. Therefore, we might see a completely different version of Covington in this rematch.
