Francis Ngannou waited on the sidelines as Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane fought it out for the interim heavyweight belt at UFC 265. ‘Bon Gamin’ put on a clinical display and stopped ‘The Black Beast’ in round three after landing a barrage of punches.

After the win, he called out former teammate and sparring partner Francis Ngannou for a unification bout. ‘The Predator’, who recently released a video on his YouTube channel, reacted to the fight and shared his thoughts on what is next.

He said, “I am the king. I am the UFC heavyweight champion. The undisputed UFC heavyweight champion. The real belt is at home. Not the one that they bought at Walmart. The real one is at home.”

Ngannou continued, “When you know, you know. I am sure he is really happy, and he deserves the moment. But he knows what is coming after him. He knows for sure.”

For the uninitiated, ‘Bon Gamin’ and ‘The Predator’ are no strangers to each other. The two men were training partners at MMA factory in Paris under Fernand Lopez. It was during his time with MMA factory that ‘The Predator’ joined the UFC and secured his first title shot. However, shortly after, Ngannou parted ways with Lopez and joined Eric Nicksick and Xtreme Couture.

During Francis’ time with MMA factory, Ngannou and Gane trained together extensively, given that they compete in the same weight class. Therefore, the two men have a very good idea of what the other brings to the table.
