Recently, Tyron Woodley and Jake Paul agreed to a boxing match. Covington, who has already beaten Woodley, talked about the time when he received some messages from the Youtuber turned boxer Jake after he beat Woodley at UFC Fight Night 178.

“He messaged me after the Tyron Woodley fight,” ‘Chaos’ said. “And he was just like, ‘oh good fight bro, I would love to train sometime. Are you gonna come to LA?”

“I was like ‘no man, I train in Miami’. Then he was like, ‘oh ok, I’m gonna come out to Miami and I’m gonna hit you up. I would love to get some rounds with you.'”

‘Chaos’ then added, “And that was that, and I never answered back, never said anything. He knows he respects me so much… he knows who daddy is. He knows that he has no chance against me.” 

Covington then explained how his other training partners felt when they had sparring rounds with Jake. According to him, his training partners described Jake as an amateur and not a real Woodley.

Colby Covington is the number 1 contender for the welterweight championship

Despite Leon Edwards having an incredible unbeaten streak in the welterweight division, Colby is the frontrunner for the title shot. UFC president Dana White has made it clear so many times.

In the post-match interview, White talked about the possibility of Edwards facing Masvidal instead. “That’s always a fight that we can make,” White on Edwards vs. Masvidal.

“That fight’s always going to be hanging out there. Leon’s the No. 3 ranked guy in the world, so we’ll see what’s next for him. I’m not sure if it’s Masvidal, but Colby Covington is the next guy in line for the title,” White added.
