Henry Cejudo Trolls Alexander Volkanovski Over Israel Adesanya’s Comments

Henry Cejudo may be retired but is never far away from the sport. The former two-division champion is always in the news. Be it trash-talking everyone in his weight class or calling out Alexander Volkanovski in a bid to win three belts in the UFC. 

Most recently, Volkanovski’s teammate Israel Adesanya was victorious in spectacular fashion against Paulo Costa who is teammates with Henry Cejudo. ‘Triple’ C’ is gunning for the featherweight strap. Following the win over Costa, Israel Adesanya and Eric Albarracin got into a heated exchange of words.

A video emerged of Israel Adesanya going over to confront Paulo Costa’s coach. Albarracin said, “We’re still coming for Volkanovski” to which ‘The Last Stylebender’ replied, “You can try but I’m going to c** all over you”.

This was followed by a bit of back and forth on twitter between Henry Cejudo and Alexander Volkanovski. ‘The Great’ replied to the aforementioned video with an interesting choice of emojis, which piqued Cejudo’s interest. ‘Triple C’ wrote, “Since you and your boy like getting turned on by men. I now anoint you as Alexander Strokinoffski. #younext” (Alexander Volkanovski)

Henry Cejudo last fought at UFC 249 and defended his belt against bantamweight great Dominick Cruz. ‘The Messenger’ stopped his challenger in the second round of the fight. Subsequently, he announced his retirement after the fight at the age of 33 with the world at his feet. The Olympic gold medallist has constantly reiterated that the only fight he would return for would be for a third belt. Alexander being the choice of opponent.

‘The Great’ defended his belt against Max Holloway in a re-match at UFC 251. Though many believed he did not deserve to win the fight, Volkanovski did enough according to the judges to be successful in his first title defense. This drew a lot of ire from ‘Triple C’ and has since been firing shots at the UFC featherweight champion multiple times on social media and interviews.

The rivalry between the two camps can add to the storyline of this fight. However, at this point in time, the fight is nowhere close to being materialized.
