GSP ended his career with an almost identical win-streak to Khabib, with both calling it quits while on a 13-fight win-streak. But GSP has aged over the last few years while Khabib entered his prime as a fighter.

While both men aren’t spring chickens, Khabib is significantly younger and more in his prime than GSP could imagine being in. As a result, Khabib has said that he will not return against GSP, even though he would love to.

“When you say Georges St-Pierre, this name really motivates me. GSP really makes me excited and so on but it’s all over, brother. He’s 40 years old. Let’s just leave it.

“For sure we like him as a human being. He is the legend. He is the decent representative of mixed martial arts. Let it be like this, there’s GSP and Khabib.”

There is a lot of interest in seeing Khabib back inside the UFC Octagon. The Lightweight champion retired in his prime and could have achieved a lot more.

But no matter who he can face now, everyone wants him to go down the path of facing Georges St-Pierre, who hasn’t fought since 2017.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is still one of the best fighters in the UFC. However, his future is way too uncertain for people to genuinely understand what he is thinking about.

Hopefully, Khabib can make the best decision according to what he wants. While everyone would love to see him return, that doesn’t seem on the cards. At least against GSP.
