Conor McGregor is not one to shy away from the spotlight. ‘The Notorious’ is famous for his epic Twitter rants that do not spare anyone in the MMA community. Most recently, the likes of Jorge Masvidal, Petr Yan, among others, were the targets.

A Twitter handle posted an image of the best boxers in the UFC. The image had names such as Max Holloway, Conor McGregor, Petr Yan, Jose Aldo, and Nate Diaz. ‘The Notorious’ replied to the tweet, saying he had already outboxed three of the five people on the list. He also claimed he would “rip” ‘No Mercy.’

This did not sit well with the current interim bantamweight champion in the UFC, Petr Yan. He took to Twitter to respond to the comments.

“Conor, we all know that you like to talk, but let’s get straight to the point if you really want to box or to fight, I don’t care about the weight or the ruleset. I bet you won’t show up @TheNotoriousMMA.”

Petr Yan is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the UFC at the moment. ‘No Mercy’ marches forward continuously and meticulously breaks down his opponents on the feet. He recently won the interim bantamweight belt after a unanimous decision win over Cory Sandhagen, who is also an exceptional striker.

Many still consider Yan the rightful champion of the division given he lost his belt via DQ. Most of the MMA fan base believes that ‘Funkmaster’ exaggerated the injury in order to win the belt. Now that Yan has secured the interim belt, a unification bout between the two men is imminent.
