The UFC will kick off 2021 with the comeback of the biggest name in MMA. ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor returns to take on former rival Dustin Poirier, a rematch seven years in the making at UFC 257.

The UFC has left no stone unturned in making sure the rest of the card is stacked with some incredible fights as well. Amanda Ribas vs Marina Rodriguez is one such fight.

Marina Rodriguez is ranked sixth in the women’s strawweight division. Ribas, on the other hand, is ranked 14th. The fight will be an excellent opportunity for Ribas to prove herself against top opposition and cement her status as a bonafide contender.

In an interview, Mike Heck asked Ribas how she felt when she found out that the card she was fighting on was going to be headlined by Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier.

Ribas said, “Yes, because I like to watch Dustin. I don’t talk to him a lot. But I saw him in the gym, he is training so hard. And McGregor, he is a name who everybody wants to see. I will fight on the same card and I will see him personally, amazing it’s a big name.”

Ribas’ teammate, Dustin Poirier, will have the eyes of the world on him as he aims to cause one of the biggest upsets of the year. In his last fight, ‘The Diamond’ bounced back with an impressive win over Dan Hooker to prove that he is still a top fighter at 155-pounds.

Meanwhile, Ribas will aim to continue her unbeaten streak in the UFC and move to 5-0. However, this will not be easy given she is up against a tough adversary in Rodriguez who will look to put behind a troubled patch.
