UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman is one of the all-time greats of the game; a dominant force, who has shrugged off every challenge thrown at him. Recently, he beat another legend, Jorge Masvidal, for the defense of his title at UFC 261.
It’s natural for any champion to receive a title fight challenge every other day. But if the challenge comes from a name like Conor McGregor, the champ can’t help but jump into the conversation.

Recently, Usman appeared for an interview, where he was asked about a possible fight with McGregor. Usman had a rather interesting take on it.
“This guy is trying to steal your thunder, change cloud or attach your name to you,” he said.
“And I just shrug it off from my shoulders because, at the end of the day, that’s all it is. This guy is just running his mouth. Conor had mentioned something before, when I was really starting to get on the rise.”
Usman added, “And I gave him an opportunity. If you truly wanna fight, here is your opportunity. You are next, you will be the next challenger, and he went silent for a couple of days.”
Usman then said all McGregor wants is to stay relevant and nothing else.
“I will offer him gladly today, I guarantee you he will say no again. So I just let him run off,” he concluded.

Kamaru Usman responded to Conor’s tweet
Usman had picked up back-to-back victories over Masvidal at UFC 261. After the match, Conor took to Twitter and shared his views on the same and wrote, “Usman even copying my shots now. Am I to fight this guy at some stage? I think so. Can’t be copying my words and my shots and not get a smack for it. I like 170. It’s mine soon.”
Except when I touch you at 170, they go out. They don’t even go out at 155 anymore for you. I finish people. You get finished. https://t.co/URd8wTHvyZ

Usman then had a reply in store for the ‘Notorious’ one. He wrote, “Except when I touch you at 170, they go out. They don’t even go out at 155 anymore for you. I finish people. You get finished.”
Two fighters of this caliber meeting, if it happens, will be a mouthwatering prospect for the fans. However, it is unlikely to happen at this point as both have fighters have their next outs lined up already.
