Angela Hill has been a top contender in the strawweight division ever since joining the UFC in 2017. The former Invicta FC strawweight champion is currently ranked 12th in the division. However, after her win this weekend, she will most likely find herself in the top 10 when the revised rankings are released.

After amassing an impressive three-fight win streak, ‘Overkill’ suffered a bit of a slum when she succumbed to back-to-back losses against the likes of Claudia Gadelha and Michelle Waterson. However, last weekend she put on an impressive performance and bounced back into the win column against Ashley Yoder by securing a unanimous decision win.

In the post-fight interview, Brett Okamoto asked Hill what she thought would be next for her. She said, “Yeah, I’d be down for that (for a fight against Jandiroba). I think it would be a great test, especially if I won an attack on the ground against her…. I’d also love to fight a striker too, you know, I’d love to fight Marina Rodriguez.”

‘Overkill’ continued, “She had a real good knockout against Ribas. I’ll probably have to beat a few people before I’m fighting top-five people. You know I’d love to fight that b***h I was supposed to fight, who is ducking me. So I dare the rankings to rank me one spot above her next week, just for one week. Just so I can call her out. Cause that’s her only reason cause I’m ranked lower than her.”

Overkill’ looked extremely sharp in her fight against Yoder. During the fight, she landed an impressive 97 total strikes with an accuracy of 59%. She also landed 77 significant strikes with an accuracy of 57%. Hill also showed a bit of her ground game as she secured one out of three attempted takedowns

Overall, Hill put on an extremely impressive performance and it will be interesting to see if the UFC matches her up against Torres, who she was supposed to face initially.
