Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most prominent sportsmen in the world. The undefeated champion has orchestrated his growth from a relatively unknown fighter hailing from the mountains of Dagestan to a world-renowned athlete in a few years.
He retired with an unblemished record of 29-0. His accomplishments inside the octagon have given him a lot of opportunities outside it. ‘The Eagle’ is one of the most widely recognized athletes in the Middle East and is adored in the region.
Khabib is an extremely religious individual and always credits his achievements and recognition to the almighty. This gesture is something that is seen during weigh-ins and often after the fight as well.
Nurmagomedov took to Instagram to share a video of a goal scored by a player for Al Wasl SC. After scoring the goal, the player runs towards the camera and copies ‘The Eagle’s’ gesture.
The player points at himself before pointing towards the sky. This symbolizes the player crediting The Almighty for what he had just done. Which is similar to what Khabib does during the weigh-in. The caption read “If you don’t know, now you know”. It is well known that Khabib is an ardent football fan and supports Real Madrid.
Khabib shocked the world when he announced his retirement at UFC 254. Ever since then fans and pundits alike have been speculating whether he would return to the octagon. It is no secret that his father wanted him to retire 30-0 as the undefeated, undisputed lightweight champion of the world.
There have been a lot of contradicting reports recently. On one hand, Dana White feels that the fighter will return for one last fight to make it 30-0. ‘The Eagle’ on the other hand has been dismissing the notion that he will return.
He said that he is focusing on his education and his farm.
However, Khabib took to Instagram to post a picture of him and Dana White with the caption “See you soon @danawhite”. This sent the MMA world into a frenzy.
