Cory Sandhagen took on Aljamain Sterling in a title eliminator at UFC 250. ‘Sandman’ was on a seven-fight win streak going into this fight against ‘Funkmaster’ and the common consensus was that the winner would go on to fight Petr Yan. Unfortunately, Aljamain Sterling secured a submission win over Sandhagen in just under two minutes of the very first round. Sterling went on to fight for the title following his win.

After the loss to Sterling, ‘Sandman’ returned to the octagon with a vengeance and absolutely demolished everyone in his way. He secured a stunning spinning wheel kick knockout win over Marlon Moraes and followed that up with a jaw-dropping flying knee knockout win over Frankie Edgar which is in strong contention for knockout of the year.

A recent video filmed by ESPN giving a closer look into Cory Sandhagen as a fighter and as a human shows an epic moment where Sandhagen predicts the exact method of his knockout win over Edgar in his journal. In the video, he said, “This page is from the Edgar fight. I remember that day I was having a lot of struggles trying to just figure out like what was going on in my mind that was making me not want to fight….. And I actually have it in here ‘be ready to knee a hole in his head right away. He will try to take the center’. That’s kinda interesting I did not know that I wrote that I was going to knee him in the head beforehand.”

Cory Sandhagen is on the cusp of a title shot at UFC Vegas 32

Cory Sandhagen is on a two-fight win streak. He is ranked number two in the division just behind former champion Petr Yan. Sandhagen has previously been in the same position where a win would have guaranteed him a title shot and came up short.

He will be aiming to fix that this time around against a former champion in TJ Dillashaw. If Sandhagen is able to secure a win, it will not only be his biggest win to date in the UFC, it will also guarantee him a title shot.

Do you think Cory Sandhagen can extend his win streak to 3-0 this weekend? Let us know in the comments below!
