Weigh-ins are the last time two fighters face each other before being locked into a cage on a UFC Fight Night. For some fighters, it’s a mere formality, but for others, it’s a chance to look their opponent in the eye and feed off the energy. Oftentimes, face-offs can get extremely heated, and sometimes have broken into an all-out brawl. The Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier face-off is a prime example of this.
At UFC Vegas 25 this weekend, Dustin Jacoby will take on Ion Cutelaba in the light heavyweight division on the main card. The face-off between the two men was extremely interesting.Cutelaba stepped on the stage and shook hands with Dana White before getting into position for the media to take photos. He then grabbed Jacoby by his neck and yanked him forward. White stepped in to quell the situation and immediately separated the two men.

Can Ion Cutelaba bounce back with a win against Dustin Jacoby at UFC Vegas 25
Cutelaba is 0-2 in his last two fights. He lost both of them to Magomed Ankalaev via stoppage. Hence, in a bid to turn around his fortunes, ‘The Hulk’ will aim to get back into the win column this weekend. However, that will be easier said than done as he is facing someone who is on a four-fight win streak.

What started out as a cordial buildup to the fight between the two men has quickly taken a turn for the worse. The face-offs might play a part in how both fighters approach the fight. Therefore, the fight should be an extremely closely contested bout between two top talents at light heavyweight.
What do you make of Ion Cutelaba’s actions? Do you think there should be serious punishments in place so that athletes do not touch each other at weigh-ins?
