Israel Adesanya Says Money Can’t Buy the Feeling of Inspiring Others

Israel Adesanya was one of the many fighters Anderson Silva inspired.

‘The Spider’ terrorized the 185 pounds division for several years. In the process, he won and defended the belt multiple times and also set records. Anderson has cemented his legacy as not only the best middleweight ever, but he is in strong contention for the ‘GOAT’ debate. 

Despite his achievements inside the octagon, Anderson is more fondly remembered for inspiring the next generation. Not only did ‘The Spider’ pave the way for Brazilians to take up the sport, but he also inspired many fighters across the world to take up the sport. 

A good example of the same was when Uriah Hall broke down in tears following his win over Anderson. He revealed that Anderson inspired him to get into the sport.

Israel Adesanya gives his thoughts on watching Anderson Silva fight

‘Izzy’ shared on social media a video with a caption that said, “Perspective, Sometimes you gotta digest your thoughts before you share/speak, let things simmer. Being able to give young homies the feels that watching Anderson Silva have me watching him grow up…that is something money can’t buy. Obrigado @SpiderAnderson.”

In the video, the individual said, “This is a public service announcement. There are some things money can’t buy. A lot of people wish they could’ve seen Michael Jordan Vs Kobe. A lot of people wish they could’ve seen Kobe Bryant vs LeBron James. GOAT sh*t. Yo, I got to see Anderson Silva vs Israel Adesanya. Live!”

The saying “Work till your idols become your rivals” could not be more apt for anyone than ‘The Last Stylebender.’ He admittedly got into the sport after getting inspired by Anderson Silva and his heroics inside the cage. 

He faced Anderson Silva at UFC 234 in 2019. Adesanya secured a win over a man he idolized. Adesanya is now in a position where people look up to him and are inspired by him to take up the sport. A feeling that he thinks money can not buy.
