The relationship between a coach and an athlete is always one for the ages. In the world of mixed martial arts, this relationship is mostly a testament to the achievements made by the fighter inside the octagon.

Over the years, there have been several examples of this coach-athlete relationship in the world of MMA. Conor McGregor and John Kavanagh come to mind, with the addition of Trevor Wittman and Justin Gaethje in recent times for fight fans even if both Wittman and Gaethje have been on each other’s side for several years now.

Joining the same rank are Javier Mendez and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has retired confirms Javier Mendez

Khabib Nurmagomedov is a man of his words. Despite fight fans hoping for Khabib’s return, Mendez feels that the Eagle has rested his gloves for good.
