Jack Hermansson vs Darren Till was set to be a mouthwatering encounter at middleweight. However, an injury has forced Till out of his fight against Jack Hermansson. This year, more so than others, the UFC has had to get in a lot of last-minute replacements. Coronavirus or it’s restrictions were the cause for the most part. However, fighters pulling out due to injury is something that has been around forever.

However, the UFC’s conveyor belt of talent ensures that in most cases a replacement is easy to find. This time around it is Kevin Holland who has stepped up to take a fight against ‘The Joker’ on short notice.

Jack Hermansson disappointed about Darren Till fight falling out; Ready for Kevin Holland

In a recent interview with Line Movement, James Lynch asked Jack Hermansson what he made of Darren Till pulling out and if he knew what caused it.

‘The Joker’ replied, “Yeah, this Friday, I got that call that Till was injured. And I believe it was his knee again if I’m correct, I’m not a 100% sure… Yeah, it really really  s***s because I was looking forward to that fight so much. I’ve been visualizing, fighting Till every single day, we were working so hard.

Hermansson continued, “For that southpaw stance,  for his style. So much work went into it, and suddenly he is out. But it is a part of the sport, we know it can happen. I’ve never pulled out of a fight actually, but someday it might be my turn if I’m unlucky so no hard feeling against Darren”

Since his move up to middleweight, Till is split in wins and losses. His most recent fight was a unanimous decision loss against Robert Whittaker.

Hermansson, on the other hand, was on a four-fight win streak before Jared Cannonier snapped it. Since his loss to Cannonier, he bounced back with a win over Kelvin Gastelum.

He now takes on a man who has been excellent this year and is already 4-0. Holland was the first fighter to fight four times this year. If ‘Trailblazer’ manages to secure a win against Hermansson, he will become the only third person to win five fights in a calendar year.

Jack Hermansson is currently ranked fourth in the division, while Holland is unranked. The fight will be an excellent opportunity for both men to take a gigantic leap forwards in rankings and put themselves in the conversation for a title shot.
