He has picked up impressive T(KO) victories in his first two fights and made his intentions very clear that he is coming for the title next.

Whenever we talk about the Light Heavyweight division, there is a certain fighter without whom the conversation feels incomplete, Jon Jones.

In a recent interview, ‘Denisa’ was asked about his thoughts on the former champion. “He’s the king of Light Heavyweight division,” he said.

“I think he will be the greatest opponent of Light Heavyweight division for me, but he is now in heavyweight, so what now?”

Prochazka further said that Jones doesn’t have the motivation to come back to the Light Heavyweight division anymore. “But I think when he will be in Light Heavyweight, that will be more dangerous for everybody.

“I think he hasn’t (doesn’t have) the motivation more for Light Heavyweight and he needs some change in fighting lifestyle or whatever,” he concluded.

Jiri Prochazka on Dominick Reyes vs Jon Jones

Prochazka was asked about his thoughts on dominating Reyes, who gave tough competition to Jones. The man from the Czech Republic said, “If you want to take a title, you need to beat the holder of title. Definitely like KO or TKO, that Dominick didn’t do.”

He says he felt the fight was close, and that Reyes outperformed Jones. But it will take more to beat the latter as he brings so much to the fight.

Denisa targeting Jan Blachowicz

It is almost certain that Prochazka will face the winner of Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira. The latter two will battle it out for the championship at UFC 266 on September 4th.

“I’m looking for the toughest fighters,” Prochazka said. He believes he has  faced tough opponents in the form of Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes but wants an even tougher challenge in Blachowicz.“The next one I think, now, is Blachowicz. That’s what I’m looking for now.”

While Prochazka facing Jones will be the biggest moment of his career, it seems unlikely at this moment as Jones has shifted his attention to heavyweight.

However, considering how Bones and the UFC have been in a stalemate regarding his compensation for taking up a fight against a seemingly indomitable Ngannou, Denisa might just find himself butting heads with the former light heavyweight kingpin if he decides to return to familiar ground at 205.
