Jon Jones is possibly the greatest fighter of all time. While he may feel like many are putting Khabib Nurmagomedov over him, many still firmly maintain that Jones is the greatest.
He has a near-perfect record inside the cage. His only loss was a controversial disqualification, one which many have said should be overturned. While he does have P.E.D. related blemishes on his resume, he has never been usurped inside the cage.
Jones has now set his sights on the Heavyweight division, making current champion Stipe Miocic a clear target. While Miocic seems pre-occupied with a possible Francis Ngannou rematch, many have fantasized about a possible fight between the greatest Heavyweight and the greatest Light Heavyweight in UFC history.

However, Mike Winkeljohn doesn’t think Stipe will be that competitive.

“It’s a tough one. Stipe is a great striker, so strong everywhere and he’s real smart. I saw the way he was controlling some of the Heavyweights on the ground. He is smart about what he does.
“But I think Jon Jones beats him at every one of those aspects. When Jon puts his mind to it, he beats everybody at wrestling, beats everybody at stand up, and beats everybody everywhere.
“It always ends up being a bloody show whenever things go right.”
Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic: Is Miocic outmatched?
To put it bluntly- No. It would be a little silly to dismiss Miocic so easily, and even Winkeljohn has given Miocic the credit that he deserves. While that was done to further pump up Jones’s talents, it doesn’t make it untrue.

Miocic will be a nightmare for Jones at Heavyweight simply because of his experience there.

Jumping from Light Heavy to Heavyweight isn’t as cut and dry as jumping from say Lightweight to Welterweight. The weight limit hasn’t increased by 15 pounds, but a whopping 60.

Miocic regularly fights the most elite 265-pound fighters in the world, while Jones has done the same with 205. Coming to Miocic’s weight, Jones cannot be looked at as a nightmare matchup.
Jones has proven that he is one of the greatest fighters of all time. A possible Miocic fight would be another test of nature by Jones to see whether he can effortlessly make the jump and knock off someone who is the most decorated heavyweight fighter in the history of the promotion.
