Jones did enough to win on the scorecards, even though most people scored it for Dominick. He first spoke about a “People’s champ”, but confirmed that he was talking about Reyes in his very next tweet.

Jones won the fight. Why is he bringing Reyes’s loss in a title fight in a division he left up? Well, there are two reasons. First, it’s Jon Jones, and he will never shy away from sharing an opinion about anything. People tried to say that Jones leaving for the heavyweights was to avoid giving Reyes the rematch he earned. Reyes did get his rematch, but ran into a Polish beast in Jan Blachowicz. Now, instead of being the LHW champion that beat Jon Jones, Reyes is on a two-fight skid. While the first performance got him everyone’s respect, the second fight took away that instantly.

You could honestly say that Jones is giving Reyes some friendly advice to not get caught up in what everyone says about him. After all, he has been lauded and slandered by the media for years, but his performances inside the cage have been dominant as ever. Reyes showed the spark of super-stardom and is on the verge of burning out after his lackluster performance against Blachowicz.
