Jon Jones and his activity on Twitter always end up making headlines. From warring with Israel Adesanya a few weeks ago to his new target, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Jones has kept everyone entertained by airing his mind unfiltered on the recent narrative of Khabib Nurmagomedov being the greatest fighter ever.
Everyone has debated the question of Jon Jones vs Khabib Nurmagomedov. There are equal number of supporters in both camps. But Jones feels that is unwarranted, as his resume is far superior to Khabib’s. He first brought up the way both men won their titles. Jones took down the legendary Shogun Rua, while Khabib won the title over a short-notice Al Iaquinta. While that wasn’t Khabib’s fault, Jones believes it’s a point in his favor.

After fans pointed out that he was being salty over the love that Khabib was receiving, he chose to set the record straight.
Salty about what, the enormous difference in our accomplishments? Dude asked to take my throne instead of outworking me, woke up the lion https://t.co/IaCoaN3EBn

After another fan pointed out that Jones has been talking about the G.O.A.T. stuff for two full days after Khabib’s retirement, Jones promptly explained that these were his final thoughts on the subject.

Jones’s insecurity over the G.O.A.T. debate is showing, but can anyone blame him. He has a stellar resume himself but feels hard done at being passed over by everyone for Khabib, a fighter with a far less impressive UFC resume.
Jon Jones: Is he really the G.O.A.T?
It is hard to give Jon Jones that title after his repeated issues with drug testing. There are three instances where Jones has had issues with his drug test. He was allowed to fight after his most recent fail (UFC 232), but the UFC had to move the event to California after Nevada refused to sanction him. The other two times came against Daniel Cormier, cancelling one fight and overturning a Jones win before that.

Khabib may not have the same longevity as Jones, but he has a spotless career. No DQ losses and no failed drug tests. The speculation will never satisfy anyone though. Khabib looks retired for good and Jones has more fights left in his career. It’s best if this debate isn’t taken so literally, and people understand that this question will never be answered with any one fighter at the top. Best to leave it behind.
