Kamaru Usman has firmly established himself as the welterweight champion of the world in the UFC. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has defended his belt not once but four times now and is on course to become one of the best if not the best welterweight to have ever stepped foot in a UFC octagon.
Usman was never a fan favorite fighter. This was mainly down to his fight style, as he was predominantly a wrestler who relied heavily on it to secure wins in the UFC.

His comments about using only 30% did not win him any more fans either. However, this has started to change off late. In his last two title defenses, Usman has viciously knocked out two of the best in his division. The most impressive one being the knockout of Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261. His performances inside the cage have seen his fame skyrocket, which has opened new doors for the champion.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ continued, “Brought in religion, talked about my family, my former manager, my current manager. He just did everything possible. Then to go in there and actually physically break his jaw, then knock his a** out was probably one of my favorites. “
