Jack Hermansson was set to take on Darren Till last weekend; however, an injury forced ‘The Gorilla’ out of the fight. Post that, Holland offered to step in and take the fight. Unfortunately, a positive COVID test ruled him out of the fight.

Not wanting to sit around without a fight, Holland decided to take up a fight against Souza this weekend. The fight will be an excellent opportunity for Kevin to prove himself against a veteran and in the process, secure a rank for himself in the middleweight division.

Kevin Holland is in no rush to secure a rank; wants to fight everyone

In a recent interview with submission radio, the host asked Holland if he was disappointed in missing out on a fight with number four ranked Jack Hermansson as a win over him would catapult him into the top 15.

He responded, “I don’t want that. I’ll take 15,16,14,13,12,11,10,9,8, all the way up until one. Cause by that time I got a lot of fights. Then maybe I gotta switch divisions or do something else. But you gotta clean the house right?”

‘Trailblazer’ continued, “So I’ll take my time getting there. Everybody is worried about the goal and everybody is worried about being at the top. I’m just worried about literally sniping people. Taking people out, it’s a fun, fun job that I have. I get to kill people and feed my clan…. This is the best job in the world for me.”

Holland is 4-0 this year. If he can get past Souza, he will become the first fighter at 185-pounds to secure five wins in a calendar year. However, going up against a veteran in Souza will not be easy even though ‘Jacare’ is on a two-fight slump at the moment.
