Yoel Romero was one of the scariest fighters in the middleweight division. Seldom has anyone called out ‘The Soldier of God’ themselves or wanted to fight him. Romero has in-human power in both hands and can turn off the lights on any fighter in the blink of an eye. This is why not many fighters were desperate for a fight with him. However, Kevin Holland is not one such fighter.
Holland has been having a stellar year. ‘Trailblazer’ is currently 4-0 in this calendar year and is aiming to make it 5-0 when he takes on Jacare Souza this weekend.

Kevin Holland gives his thoughts on Yoel Romero being released by the UFC
In a recent interview with submission radio, the host asked Kevin Holland if it was true that he wanted to fight Yoel Romero. He said, “Yeah, it really sucks that Yoel Romero is done. That was actually the fight I was going to call out next. But if he is gone, he is gone. Props to him. Have fun in your next career, by the time I get out of the UFC I’ll be old too and I won’t wanna fight no more. So I plan on finishing my career here.”
‘Trailblazer’ continued, “So if he is done he is done, if he is going somewhere else best of luck in his career. Props to him, he is a legend. I just want to simply fight some legends, that’s all that there is to it. Plus that get me closer to a BMF title fight. I’m just excited for those type of things.”
Holland is currently 4-0 this year with impressive wins over the likes of Joaquin Buckley and Anthony Hernandez, among others. In the process, he became the first fighter to reach 4-0 this year.

Three of his four wins have come via stoppage, and he will be the first fighter at 185-pounds to get to 5-0 in a calendar year if he can secure a win over Souza.
A fight between Kevin Holland and Yoel Romero would have been a treat for MMA fans. However, it does not look like it will happen with the UFC.
