Kevin Holland has quickly become a fan favorite in the UFC. His willingness to fight often along with his stunning knockouts have made ‘loud mouth’ one of the biggest names in the promotion. Holland was extremely active in 2020 and fought a record-breaking five times despite only having his first fight in May.

He seems on track to break that record, as by the end of this week he will have two fights under his belt and it is just the second week of April. ‘Trailblazer’ takes on a tough test this weekend as he fights on Marvin Vettori on short notice.

Holland will be aiming to bounce back after a loss against Derek Brunson in his first UFC main event bout.

Can Kevin Holland bounce back after a sub-par performance in his last fight?

During his media obligations ahead of the fight, Holland had a star-struck moment. He said, “Like I said before, I go home and I’ll have a good time. Wow, is that Amanda Nunes right there (As Nunes passes by)? Oh my god! You’re the GOAT. The real GOAT, there we go.”

Nunes was in attendance as she will be cornering her partner Nina Ansaroff against Mackenzie Dern this weekend.

Holland had a sub-par display in his last fight against Derek Brunson. The fighter is known for his striking and is pretty good at that. However, Brunson exposed a gaping hole in his MMA game during their fight.

Brunson was able to take Holland down at will during the bout. When he was on the bottom, he displayed no urgency or intent of getting the fight back to the feet. Rather, he was more content in talking trash and absorbing shots. Dana White and the fans did not receive the display well.

Given ‘Trailblazer’s previous fight, it will be no surprise that Marvin Vettori will also aim to use his grappling extensively and secure a win, just like Brunson did. However, it will be interesting to see what adjustments Holland has made to his game in such a short period of time.
