After Saturday night’s fights, the UFC releases the updated rankings every week on Tuesday for every division’s top 15. This weekend, Derek Brunson took on Kevin Holland in the main event at UFC Vegas 22. Both men are in the top 15 of the 185-pound division. Brunson extended his win streak to 4-0 with a win over Kevin Holland and in the process, he leapfrogged Marvin Vettori to number four in the middleweight rankings

This did not sit well with ‘The Italian Dream’. The Italian-born Vettori, himself, is on a four-fight win streak and looked extremely impressive in his last outing.

Brunson’s display against Holland was not the most impressive, which is probably why Vettori feels he should not have lost a rank to Brunson.

In the main event at Vegas 22, Derek Brunson extensively used his wrestling against Holland, who does not have the best takedown defense. The fight was certainly a lot less entertaining than fans expected it to be, and a lot less competitive as well.

Vettori prepares to take on Darren Till next month in a bid to extend his win streak to 5-0 and position himself for a title shot as soon as possible. After his loss to champion Israel Adesanya, ‘The Italian Dream’ bounced back bell with some impressive performances and wins over the likes of Jack Hermansson and Karl Roberson among others.

He takes on Darren Till, who has just one win in his last four fights. And most recently, he was outpointed by former champion Robert Whittaker. While ‘The Gorilla’ would be looking to bounce back to the win column, ‘The Italian Dream’ will be looking to cement his place as a title contender in what will be a cracker of a fight on April 10th.

What do you make of Marvin’s Tweet, should Derek Brunson have been rated higher than him given his last performance? Let us know in the comments below!
