Tony Ferguson and Conor McGregor have been in each other’s crosshairs for a long time now. Ferguson has, on multiple occasions, called out McGregor in a bid to secure a fight against ‘The Notorious’. Both men used to be a part of the same management company, but the relationship soured after Ferguson parted ways with Paradigm Sports.

Conor McGregor is not one to back down when someone fires shots at him. He replied befittingly to Ferguson’s accusations, saying, “Omg, god bless you kid. Mental basket sad case. Diaz called Ferguson out a few hours back. Given that McGregor still has a lot of time before he can return to action, a fight between Diaz and Ferguson makes a lot of sense.

The common consensus is that when McGregor returns next year, the Diaz trilogy will most likely be next for him. However, a fight against Ferguson also makes a lot of sense, given there is genuine animosity there and a good back story as well. It will be interesting to see how this rivalry develops over the next few months.
