

In an interview with Ariel Helwani for ESPN MMA, UFC lightweight Michael Chandler revealed that WWE legend Ric Flair reached out to him, and they might now walk out together. Ric “The Nature Boy” and his wife reached out to Chandler to congratulate him on his recent victory over Dan Hooker. Chandler uploaded a photo on social media showing everyone that he was on a Zoom call with Flair.
Chandler said, “He had reached out to my management, and he told me when we first got on the call, you know Michael, I’m getting a lot of publicity because of you right now. You know cause everybody kept tagging him.” Chandler also expressed his love and respect for the living legend that is Ric Flair, and said that the whole experience was pretty cool.

He went on and revealed that Flair also promised him that he would walk out with him for a fight. “He said he was gonna call Dana and ask if we can make it happen, but I think we might get to see Ric Flair walking out with me,” Chandler exclaimed.
If Chandler is to be believed, Flair may wear his old iconic red robe while they walk out.

Michael Chandler had an amazing debut
Michael Chandler recently announced himself in the UFC with an incredible first-round knockout victory over Dan Hooker at UFC 257. He has been in the limelight ever since he was signed from Bellator MMA and asked to be the back-up fighter for the lightweight title fight (Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Justin Gaethje) at UFC 254.
Ariel Helwani also asked Chandler who he wanted to fight next, and Chandler replied, “I think with my performance, and with Dustin Poirier’s performance, both of those warrant us to fight for the title. Dustin Poirier for sure.” He also added, “Things are working out perfectly, and the stars are aligning right now with another man named Justin Gaethje and me. We are headed on this collision towards the UFC octagon.”

It was one of those refreshing interviews with Michael Chandler presenting himself to be an eloquent subject. His stock is on the rise, and a ringside appearance with Ric Flair would only further his star amongst the UFC faithful.
