Perry last fought inside the Octagon against Tim Means at UFC 255. He lost the competitive fight and hasn’t been announced for any fights since. There have been very public issues with Perry, as he has had a few bar altercations and other misdemeanors to his name.

The UFC world was introduced to Perry’s girlfriend Latory Gonzales when he fired his entire corner staff to have her in the corner for his fights. The first fight she played this role led to Perry dominating Mickey Gall en route to his last win in the UFC.

Mike Perry: Re-energized by the birth of his son?

While everyone is wishing Perry good health, many are also questioning whether he will return to the UFC. Considering Perry is now a father, he will look to provide for his son the best way he knows how, that is to be a cage-fighter. But there are questions over all the damage that Perry has taken over his career and whether it is safe for him to continue fighting.

Concern for Perry and his career is valid. However, his number one priority will become his son now. Hopefully, his recent outbursts start calming down as he focuses on raising his son. If this allows him to rejuvenate himself and return to the cage, it will be interesting to see how it goes.
