Mike Perry will return to the Octagon today to face off against Daniel Rodriguez in the Welterweight division. Perry may not be a fighter who is contending for championships, but he is one of the more popular fighters on the UFC roster. There are eyes on him when he fights.
Those eyes seem to have influenced Perry to make a change. After failing to make weight last time he fought in a loss, Perry has taken training and nutrition seriously this time around. Despite making weight, Perry isn’t letting his habits go until the fight is over. Jake Paul‘s coach seems to have something to do with that.

Today is weigh-in day, so I get to eat and drink. And I should be taking in proper foods and healthy nutrition. He was like, wait one more day champ.
“It’s something I know, but if someone doesn’t reach out and say it, then I might just I go for it, anyway. But he is a 100% right. It has got to be clean chicken and pasta. After I knock this fool out tomorrow, then I will get some chicken sandwiches.”

Perry hasn’t lived up to his talent with his tremendous power and decent grappling. While many may have expected him to at least be ranked by now, Perry still lies pretty low on the rankings. A win here may spark a change in fortunes for Perry, who is eyeing a money fight with Darren Till at Middleweight. But another loss here may stop him in his tracks before he gets to Till.
