Julian Marquez makes up for time lost with two back-to-back finishes

The fight started off well for both men. Marquez and Alvey were both slinging leather and landing some good shots early on. Both men had each other hurt at various points during the first round itself. However, the damage was not significant to end the fight.

In the second round, ‘The Cuban Missile Crisis’ landed more precisely and stung Alvey a few times. Once he had Alvey hurt and wobbled, he backed him up against the fence and started loading up the shots.

Marquez was landing bombs as the referee kept a close eye on the proceedings. Recognizing an opening while Alvey was down, Marquez went for a rear-naked choke and as Alvey refused to tap, Marquez choked him out.
