The future of the lightweight division depends on ‘The Eagle’s‘ decision that he will shortly take. If Khabib Nurmagomedov fights once again to make it 30-0, it would arguably be the biggest fight in the promotion’s history. That decision will depend on the performances by the likes of Dan Hooker, Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, and Michael Chandler

If either of the aforementioned fighters is able to put on a stellar show, The Dagestani fighter would come back to the sport for one last fight. However, not everyone is onboard with Khabib taking his time to make a decision.

His sentiments are shared with rival Conor McGregor, who has also bashed Khabib for wanting to walk away from the sport. He added that ‘The Eagle’ was afraid to fight him, which is a reason in him wanting to walk away from the sport.

Nate Diaz has been away from the sport for a while. His last fight was in November 2019 against Jorge Masvidal for the ‘BMF’ belt. At the time, he stated that he would only accept a rematch against Jorge Masvidal as he felt the stoppage was unnecessary.
