Paulo Costa may have lost his last fight. However, he is still one of the best middleweights in the UFC. ‘Borrachinha’ saw his 13-fight unbeaten streak snap when he faced Israel Adesanya at UFC 253. Since then he has been keen on getting back into the octagon, hoping to get back into the win column as soon as possible.
After his loss against Israel Adesanya, Paulo Costa was quick to demand a rematch. This was primarily because took offense to ‘The Last Stylebender’s’ post-fight antics. The Brazilian labeled him ‘human trash’. However, given the nature of his defeat, it is highly unlikely Costa will get a rematch anytime soon. Costa now focuses on his way back to the title by getting a few wins under his name.

Paulo Costa appreciated the display put on by Jared Cannonier and Robert Whittaker at UFC 254. The Brazilian fighter tweeted, “Congrats to the Nice guy (Robert Whittaker). Looking good last night. Congrats to (Jared Cannonier) too. Both good did their best.”
Costa then put out another Tweet that read, “Hey Robert Whittaker enjoy your end of year, you deserved. When you come back we can do amazing fight”

Since losing his belt to Israel Adesanya, ‘The Reaper’ took some time off before returning to the octagon. The time off seemed to have helped him as he looked like a man reinvigorated. Whittaker who fought only once in 2018 and once in 2019 seems to have sorted out his health as he has now fought twice this year.
Both his fights were against top-quality opposition in Darren Till and Jared Cannonier. However, ‘The Reaper’ proved that he is still one of the best at 185 pounds, securing unanimous decision wins both times.

Paulo Costa was riding a 13-fight win streak ahead of UFC 253. He wants to get a match against ‘The Reaper’, but this looks unlikely as UFC President Dana White has stated that Robert Whittaker Vs Israel Adesanya 2 is the next fight to make.
