Sasha Palatnikov vs Louis Cosce was the first fight on the early prelim card at UFC 255. The bout took place at 170 pounds. Both men are currently unranked in the division, and the fight was a splendid opportunity for them to put themselves on course to secure a rank sooner rather than later.

This was ‘The Monster’s’ second fight in the promotion as he welcomed a newcomer in Sasha Palatnikov. Cosce was undefeated going into the fight and had a stunning 71% finishing rate. Palatnikov was fighting with the UAE warriors’ promotion before the UFC signed him.

Palatnikov continued, “Let alone ‘DC’. I love ‘DC’. He is one of my favorite fighters, John Anik, and just this whole environment. Seeing all you guys in front of me is a blessing. Cause I’m usually the one on the computer watching you guys interview other fighters…. I’ve been working on this for a very long time, ups and downs. You just gotta keep working, keep following your dreams, and it’s all gonna come together eventually.”

Palatnikov revealed that he took the fight on two weeks’ notice. Furthermore, to top it off, he took the fight right after he healed from COVID-19.
