Although Khabib Nurmagomedov does not actively compete in MMA anymore, he has been working behind the scenes to help the growth of MMA as a sport around the world. Towards the end of last year, it was announced that ‘The Eagle’ acquired an MMA promotion and rebranded it as ‘Eagle Fighting Championship’.

His aim is that the promotion will serve as a platform for up-and-coming fighters, ultimately acting as a feeder to the UFC.

Eagle FC’s recent event took place in Kazan, Russia. Following the event, Nurmagomedov took to Instagram to share his thoughts. He said, “Many thanks @tatneft_official for organizing and conducting our tournament @eaglefcmmain Kazan. Also, as part of this trip, I visited the city of Almetyevsk, where I met and talked with young athletes and examined the sports complexes of this city. Trust me, we will return to Tatarstan more than once with tournaments, and I also plan to open my own gym in Kazan. See you soon friends.” (Translate using Google translate)

July will be a busy month for ‘coach’ Khabib Nurmagomedov 

‘The Eagle’ has always found time to help his teammates by cornering them for their fights, even when he was an active fighter. However, since his retirement, he has increased his involvement in the development of his teammates as MMA fighters. He is seen cornering a fellow teammate almost every time they fight. 

Nurmagomedov and his team were out of action because of the holy month of Ramadan. However, now that it is over, fights are coming thick and fast for coach Khabib.
