“Shame on You”- Former UFC Champion Rafael dos Anjos Blasts Michael Chandler

Rafael dos Anjos has been a man on a mission to find a fight. The Brazilian star was initially set to fight Islam Makhachev at UFC 254. However, a positive COVID-19 test ruled him out of the fight. The bout was then rescheduled for November 14. However, this time around, it was Makhachev who pulled out. 

RDA’ last fought in June and has been desperately trying to get a replacement for his fight this weekend. Dos Anjos took to Twitter to call out newcomer Michael Chandler. After getting no response, ‘RDA’ put out another Tweet aimed at ‘Iron’.

Rafael dos Anjos fires shots at newcomer Michael Chandler 

Rafael dos Anjos took to Twitter to troll former Bellator champion Michael Chandler. He Tweeted, “If you don’t take a fight because you don’t have enough time to drop weight I get it but don’t tell me you have other plans.

“I became the champion of the BIGGEST organization fighting everyone they put in front of me. Shame on you.”

In response, ‘Iron’ tweeted, “I’ll go ahead and assume that the above statement was directed at me. We do have other plans & we won’t just abandon them out of the blue. Also, making weight this quick is impossible this soon after last cut. For the record…I was never offered this fight. @RdosAnjosMMA”

Michael Chandler has not been able to showcase his skills to the UFC audience yet. His first assignment as a UFC fighter was a backup for the main event at UFC 254. However, since then Chandler has been eager to get into the octagon. 

Justin Gaethje and Tony Ferguson are two names that ‘Iron’ has mentioned as the fights he wants. Therefore, a short notice fight against ‘RDA’ is not something that entices him at the moment.

‘RDA’ is more than ready to fight this weekend. Recent reports suggest that he might have found a dance partner for the main event at on November 14. Paul Felder has put his name forward in wanting to fight Rafael dos Anjos.
