Paige VanZant shocked the world recently when she moved to Bareknuckle fighting. ‘12 Gauge’ had been on the UFC roster for 6 years and has been one of the best in her division. However, after her recent fight against Amanda Ribas, VanZant decided to test free agency.

Paige was one of the hottest free agents up for grabs and Bareknuckle fighting wasted no time in signing her. ‘12 Gauge’ follows a list of veteran fighters that have left UFC to join other promotions for lucrative contracts.

However, it is no surprise that VanZant’s move to BKFC has been met with a lot of negativity and criticism from the media and fans alike.

Amanda Ribas shares her thoughts on Paige VanZant fighting at BKFC

In a recent interview, Mike Heck asked Amanda Ribas what she made of Paige VanZant joining BKFC. Ribas said, “She’s a really smart girl.

“Because she has a really big heart I was telling this in my another interviews, and I think for her it will be good because no one who has a weak heart or a little scared can fight boxing like that without gloves.

“So for her, I think it will be a big step. She will get money because they pay really good.”

Ribas last stepped into the octagon in July this year when she took less than a round to submit ‘12 Gauge‘ to secure a 4th straight win in the UFC. Since the fight, both women have been helping each other out at American Top Team for their upcoming fights.

Paige is set to make her BKFC debut early next year. While speaking to the media, BKFC President David Feldman said, “Yeah, we’re going to do the Friday before the Super Bowl, right around the Super Bowl, where it’s going to be.

“It’s going to be a great event for us. We’re going to do Friday, Feb. 5, Paige VanZant, that will be her debut for us”
