The fight between Michael Chandler and Justin Gaethje was dubbed the people’s main event going into UFC 268. Many believed that the fight had all the right ingredients to be the fight of the night.
Both Chandler and Gaethje have a strong wrestling base. However, they also have one-punch knockout power that they have displayed time and time again, both inside the UFC and outside it.

The stars were out in full force in attendance at UFC 268 at Madison Square Garden. Those that could not make it did not hold back on the praise for the fight card on Twitter. Chris Pratt was one such star.

Was UFC 268 the best fight card of the year?
The fight card was stacked with brilliant fights from the very first fight on the early preliminary card. The likes of Ode Osbourne, Melsik Baghdasaryan, and Dustin Jacoby all secured decision wins to start off the night.

After the first three fights, the next six did not go the distance as the likes of Chris Barnett, Ian Garry, Nassourdine Imavov, Chris Curtis, Bobby Green, and Alex Pereira all secured stunning knockout wins over their respective opponents.

The most impressive of the lot was, without a doubt, Alex Pereira’s flying knee knockout win.
Pereira is a multiple-time kickboxing champion and came into the UFC with a lot of hype surrounding him. He has secured knockout wins over current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and is definitely a name to watch out for going forward.

Chandler and Gaethje set the stage for a fantastic main card with a three-round war. Both men came out and threw caution to the wind from the very first minute of the fight. They traded shot for shot, and leg kick for leg kick.

Both men had their counterparts severely hurt multiple times. However, it was ‘The Highlight’ who persevered and secured a unanimous decision win at the end as he has done multiple times in his UFC career.
