UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya will soon face Marvin Vettori in a rematch to defend his title at UFC 263. The former had got the better of Vettori in 2018 via a split decision.

It’s not a hidden fact that Adesanya is very active on active on social media. The middleweight kingpin more often than not posts interesting and funny tweets related to everything, not just UFC fighters.

Recently, his opponent, Marvin Vettori, appeared in an interview where he described his previous matchup with Adesanya and detailed why he should have won.

Adesanya then took to Twitter to respond to ‘The Italian Dream’. The middleweight champion uploaded a video of him connecting a spinning back kick on his opponent. The caption in the video read, “There will be no doubt.”

He followed up this tweet with another hilarious tweet that included a video where Vettori was responding to questions to an interview.

‘The Last Stylebender ‘ edited the video to his liking and added a caption that read, “stuck a feather in his cap and called it macaroni.”

Well, it will be interesting to see how Vettori responds to this Twitter banter by Adesanya.

Israel Adesanya vs Marvin Vettori: Recent stats

Adesanya (20-1) is one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. He has been undefeated in the middleweight division and has almost finished all the top contenders.

His last few opponents have been some of the best going around in the world of MMA. The middleweight champ incurred the first loss of his career when he fought for the light heavyweight championship against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259.

Prior to that, he secured commanding wins over Robert Whittaker via KO, Yoel Romero via unanimous decision, and Paulo Costa via TKO.

Vettori, on the other hand, became the no.1 contender for the title after he won against Kevin Holland at UFC on ABC 2. He is currently riding on a 5 match win streak which started after his prior loss against Adesanya in 2018.

‘The Italian Dream’ got the better of some quality fighters in Karl Roberson and Jack Hermansson before brushing aside Holland for the title challenge.

It’s surely going to be a close affair as Vettori would be hoping to improve from the mistakes he did the last when they fought. Adesanya, meanwhile, will look to continue his domination in the division.
