Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov recently signed a multi-year contract with energy drink giant, Gorilla Energy. The elated Dagestani native shared the news via his Instagram account. His close pals like UFC lightweight Islam Makhachev, Umar Nurmagomedov, and others joined him in his media conference where he signed the deal.

‘The Eagle’ took to Instagram and wrote, “Today was the biggest signing in the history of Russian Sports. Interestingly, everything works out, well, let it be….@gorillaenergy, @gorillafighting, you are just a bomb and we will not let you down.”

Khabib signed with the energy manufacturer back in 2018. The UFC’s official drink partner, Monster Energy, wanted to sign ‘The Eagle’ because of his image with younger audiences. But the Dagestani chose Gorilla Energy which is produced by Moscow Brewing Company. Also, since 2019, Gorilla Energy stages its own MMA tournaments, where Khabib’s team members relentlessly take part.

‘The Eagle’ has been a busy man since his retirement from the MMA. He has picked up more background roles like promoting his MMA promotion, Eagle FC. He has also transformed himself into a coach and mentors his close friends like Makhachev and others in their matches.

‘The Eagle’ last featured in a match against ‘The Highlight’ Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 and retired following his win. With an unmatched record of 29 wins and no losses, he will surely go down in history as an all-time great.

Khabib Nurmagomedov wasn’t happy while appearing in ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson’

Khabib recently appearing for an episode in ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson’. It was a treat for the fans to see two of the most iconic combat sports athletes combining to share their views on different topics.

But, it was also a moment where two athletes with polar opposite personalities collaborated. Khabib, who clearly prefers a non-smoking, non-alcoholic surrounding, had a hard time with the boxing legend, who smokes during his podcasts.

During his media interaction, Khabib mentioned why he didn’t enjoy being a part of the show. “I didn’t like his look (and) I told him right away to get rid of all the things like smoke on the table. I didn’t like being there (and) I liked more the way Cristiano Ronaldo looked. He looks like an athlete,” Khabib added.
