Colby Covington put on an impressive performance against former champion Tyron Woodley at the UFC Fight Night 178 main event. The former interim champion dominated from start to finish. In the fifth round of the fight, while Tyron was on the ground and Colby was on top of him, ‘The Chosen One’ squealed in pain and the referee stopped the fight. Woodley confirmed that he had broken a bone in his rib cage.

Following his win, Covington called out his next targets “Marty Fakenewsman” and “Street Judas” in the post-fight interview.

A fight between friends turned foes in Jorge Masvidal, and ‘Chaos‘ is reportedly in the works. Colby was quoted, “It’s looking like hopefully around December. And we’re going to settle a Miami beef. We’re going to find out who is the king of 305. Me Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington vs Jorge ‘Gamebred’ Masvidal.”

Colby added  “We’re going to settle it inside that steel cage. I’m going to fight for people that don’t have a voice. Fight for Donald Trump and keep doing what I do, baby, win! I’m addicted to winning just like the president.”

The storyline here will pique the interest of all fights fans. Colby Covington was someone who Masvidal took under his wing when he started out in MMA. ‘Gamebred’ provided him with a home and helped him become a part of the American Top Team.

However, the relationship between the two men soured according to Jorge when Colby refused to pay Paulino Hernandez following his win over Rafael dos Anjos. Hernandez has been a long time trainer and father figure to Jorge. His coach being ‘ripped off’ is something that did not sit right with ‘Gamebred’.

Jorge Masvidal recently fought for the belt and came up short against Kamaru Usman at UFC 251. Masvidal will look to get back into the win column when he faces a familiar foe in Colby. Meanwhile, Covington will look to get back to a title shot against ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’, after falling short at UFC 245.
