As UFC 264 draws closer, the war of words between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier is heating up. This time around there will be no cordial handshakes or exchanging of hot sauces and whiskey bottles. Ahead of his third and possibly last fight against Dustin Poirier, fans will most likely get to see the trash-talking no hold-barred version of Conor McGregor.

Ahead of the fight, McGregor took a few minutes to go live on Instagram and answer a few questions from his fans. One fan commented, “Give him a proper head kick.”

Things are getting heated between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier

‘The Notorious’ recently put out a tweet suggesting that the first fighter to shoot for a takedown is a ‘Dusty b***h’. It was a sly dig at Poirier who went for a takedown early in round one in their second fight earlier this year.

‘The Diamond’ was not very happy about the comments. He said, “How about, the first one to get taken down is a dusty b***h. This is mixed martial arts, put it all together. It reeks of insecurity to me.”

McGregor, who is not known for having the best gas tank, has had endurance issues multiple times in his career. Therefore, Poirier adopted a good game plan of securing a takedown early to wear down Conor McGregor and deplete his gas tank. However, ‘The Notorious’ did well in the grappling exchanges and was not completely dominated on the ground.

Going into the third fight, Poirier will most likely try to take McGregor down as the billboard would not have affected his mindset in any way. However, it will be interesting to see how ‘The Notorious’ copes with takedowns this time around at UFC 264
