UFC 38: Mark Weir vs Eugene Jackson (0:10)

Leading into the fight against Eugene Jackson, Weir was on an 8 fight win streak. He made his debut at UFC 28 against a veteran in Eugene Jackson. Jackson had fought six times in the UFC leading up to the fight and was split evenly in his record thus far. Hence, he could be called a worthy adversary for the newcomer.

The Wizard’ could not have asked for a better start in the promotion. He threw a kick not to hurt his opponent, but with the sole intention of getting his arms out of the way. As ‘The Wizard’ attacked, Jackson’s hands dropped by his side. Weir quickly followed that up with a punch, just as ‘The Wolf’ moved forward in full force for a counter. It took him just ten seconds to secure his first win in the UFC.
