Khabib Nurmagomedov is preparing in Abu Dhabi for his upcoming Lightweight title match against interim champion Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. The champ will fight almost a year after his title defense over Dustin Poirier, another fight that took place in the UAE.

The treatment his camp is receiving in Abu Dhabi has been quite lavish. However, Khabib is wary of the effects of this treatment on the younger members of his camp.

“They take very good care of us here, to be honest. However, It’s important that the guys don’t get used to it. We’ve got 19, 22-year-old guys that are just starting. At 22, I was never treated like this.

“These guys are treated like kings at 22, and that can really get into your head. You have to have that hunger, literally and metaphorically. Hunger is what drives you. I worry about the young guys. As for me, yes I see that they cook and clean for us. Our hosts take that very seriously.”

Is Khabib Nurmagomedov getting ready for his fight in luxury?

While the stay in the UAE may be pleasant for Khabib and his camp, the challenge ahead is the most unpleasant. Justin Gaethje is one of the most dangerous lightweights around and will give Khabib the fight of his life. However, Khabib will look to stick to his game plan of wrestling to ensure Gaethje gets no openings to attack him.

Nonetheless, we can expect a cracker of a fight. Despite the obvious difficulties that Khabib has gone through with his Tony Ferguson fight getting canceled and then his father passing away, the Dagestani will look forward to letting his feelings go in the cage.
