Joaquin Buckley vs Jordan Wright is an exciting bout at middleweight. The fight between the two will be the second last fight on the preliminary card at UFC 255. Both ‘New Mansa’ and Wright are relatively young fighters who are not ranked in the UFC at the moment. They will be hoping to gain a rank in the near future. A win on Saturday will definitely help their cause.

Joaquin Buckley vs Jordan Wright to set off fireworks at Middleweight

Joaquin Buckley made his UFC debut in August 2020 when succumbed to a loss against Kevin Holland via TKO. He then bounced back impressively against Impa Kasanganay in October.

His knockout was possibly one of the greatest knockouts ever witnessed in UFC history and is definitely in contention for knockout of the year. Buckley will be hoping to maintain the same form going into his fight against Wright and will look to extend his winning streak to 2-0.

Jordan Wright made his debut on Dana White’s Contender Series in June 2018 against Anthony Hernandez. The bout was a no contest. He then returned to the UFC in August this year with the stoppage win over Isaac Villanueva.  He too will look to extend his winning streak 2-0  this Saturday.

‘New Mansa’ has incredible knockout power. He has secured 73% of his wins via T/KO. In the UFC, he has landed a devastating 3.92 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy of 32%. However, he has absorbed 6.09 significant strikes per minute. This might be a cause for concern for Buckley as he heads into his third fight in the UFC.

Jordan Wright on the other hand has secured 55% of his wins via T/KO. He has landed a devastating 7.79 significant strikes per minute. However, just like his adversary has been prone to getting hit and absorbed a concerning 7.79 significant strides per minute in the UFC. Going into the fight he will have a significant height advantage and a 1-inch reach advantage over ‘New Mansa’

Despite the disadvantages on the tape, given his recent form and performance, Buckley should be able to secure his second win in the promotion.
