UFC 255 will take place this weekend. The card is extremely stacked with two title fights as Valentina Shevchenko and Deiveson Figueiredo aim to defend their belts. However, the entire card has some amazing fights all the way to the early prelims. The likes of Mike Perry, Shogun Rua, and Brandon Royval are all fighters to watch out for this weekend.

Mike Perry takes on Tim Means on the main card at UFC 255. Both men are currently unranked in the UFC’s welterweight division, and therefore a win on Saturday will help their cause in attaining a rank sooner rather than later. ‘Platinum’ did not have the best start to his weekend as he missed weight.

Mike Perry details why he missed weight ahead of UFC 255

After the weigh-ins, Helen Yee interviewed Mike Perry. Yee asked Perry about his Tweets in the early hours of Friday and the reason behind him missing weight. He replied, “Uh, I don’t know, I just made the mistakes too late. And I did not get dehydrated early enough, I thought that I could just dehydrate late and some people do it that way I’ve always heard. I’ve seen them cut the 15 in one night or whatever.”

Platinum’ continued, “I tried to get 15 off yesterday and all night. When I was tweeting I just finished some exercise and I could not get no sweat going, tried all the way up until 10:20 this morning….. I just kept trying and trying and got a pound or two in all that time it was just a broken record at that point…. I figured Tim Means would be grateful to get the 30% and show up and fight.

Perry has forfeited 30% of his purse for the event to Tim Means for missing weight. The bout, however, is still on. ‘Platinum’ will be hoping to end a dismal fight week buildup on a high and move to 2-0 after an impressive win over Mickey Gall earlier this year.
