UFC 257: Khalil Rountree Jr vs Marcin Prachnio- Prediction and Analysis

The first UFC PPV event of the year is just a day away. Conor McGregor marks his return to the octagon almost a year on from the last time he stepped into the cage. He takes on a former rival in Dustin Poirier seven years on from their first fight.
The UFC has made sure that for the first PPV event the card is stacked all the way to the early prelims as well. The preliminary card, however, kicks off with Khalil Rountree Jr taking on Marcin Prachnio in the light heavyweight division. As both men are unranked in the division, the fight is a good chance for both men to put on an excellent performance and rectify the situation regarding the rankings.

Khalil Rountree Jr vs Marcin Prachnio kicks off the UFC 257 preliminary card
Khalil Rountree Jr made his UFC debut on the Ultimate Fighter 23 finale in 2016 against Andrew Sanchez. He succumbed to a loss in his first two fights in the UFC, after which he put on a decent run of results. He is 1-2 in his last three bouts. Most recently, Ion Cutelaba stopped him in the first round of their fight in September 2019.

Prachnio, on the other hand, made his UFC debut in February 2018 with a loss against Sam Alvey. He has since lost both his fights in the UFC and is 0-3 thus far in the promotion. Marcin will hope to secure his first win in the promotion at UFC 257 against ‘The War Horse’.

‘The War Horse’ has secured an impressive 63% of his career wins via T/KO. He is extremely dangerous on the feet and will be looking to keep the fight standing. Although he will be the shorter man going into the fight, he will have a two-and-a-half inch reach advantage over his opponent.
Rountree Jr has landed an impressive 2.30 significant strikes in his UFC career. However, he has absorbed a concerning 3.29 per minute.

Prachnio is also a knockout artist, and has secured a mind-boggling 77% of his wins via T/KO. He has landed an impressive 2.39 significant strikes per minute in his UFC career and will look to capitalize on ‘The War Horse’s’ defense, which is not the best.
